What is the "modern method" of patent practice?

At Modern Method Patents, we embrace new and useful methods of patent drafting and prosecution. Simply stated, we see emerging labor-saving technologies, such as remote work services, cloud-based client collaboration, and AI language models, as opportunities to improve project transparency and reduce turnaround time rather than as threats to the conventional way of doing things.

 

We use remote collaboration tools with our Clients and our CAD drafting team, including screen-sharing video chat and document delivery/editing through Google Drive. When conducting a prior art search, we apply precise Boolean logic to the search query to deliver a consolidated list of maximally relevant articles of prior art. When appropriate, we apply AI language models and adaptive application templates to generate first-draft background sections for our patent applications.

The purpose of our "modern method" patent drafting strategy is simple - we seek to use the latest collaboration software to facilitate clear communication with our clients and contractors, and we use the latest technical writing tools to expedite the first draft the application specification. In doing so, we eliminate rework, reduce turnaround time, and ultimately, and lower the cost of protecting your invention.
